Role Overview
Join Bitlogix in developing and modernizing NetControl, our software platform for monitoring, managing, and controlling networked devices. You will work with communication protocols, device interfaces, control logic, and distributed software used in complex environments with multiple devices and operating systems.

This role offers the opportunity to support an established product while helping define and build its next generation architecture. You will contribute throughout the development process, from protocol analysis and system design through implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and continued improvement.

What You Will Do

• Maintain and extend existing NetControl software components.

• Contribute to the design and development of a modern server based architecture.

• Develop network communication layers, protocol parsers, device interfaces, and control services.

• Integrate devices using TCP/IP, UDP, serial communication, SNMP, and manufacturer specific protocols.

• Develop software for asynchronous communication, device state management, event processing, and real time data handling.

• Troubleshoot communication, connectivity, and integration issues in complex device environments.

• Help modernize established software while preserving dependable functionality for existing users.

• Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, product specialists, clients, and technology partners on requirements, testing, and implementation.

• Improve software performance, reliability, testability, security, and maintainability.

• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, testing, technical documentation, and product improvement.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong software development experience with Java, C, C++, Delphi, or another systems oriented programming language.

• A solid understanding of network programming, including TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, and application protocols.

• Experience with device communication, control systems, automation platforms, IoT systems, or comparable networked environments.

• An understanding of asynchronous communication, concurrency, state machines, event processing, and real time data handling.

• Experience analyzing and implementing communication protocols and device interfaces.

• The ability to work effectively with established codebases while contributing to modern software architecture.

• Experience using Git and established software development practices.

• The ability to analyze complex requirements, communicate technical decisions clearly, and work effectively with engineering and domain experts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java backend development and service based architectures.

• Experience modernizing legacy software or migrating applications to contemporary platforms.

• Experience with Delphi or other established desktop software technologies.

• Familiarity with serial communication standards such as RS 232 and RS 485.

• Experience with SNMP, device discovery, remote monitoring, or network management systems.

• Experience developing web based control interfaces, application programming interfaces, or distributed server applications.

• Familiarity with embedded devices, firmware interfaces, or hardware integration.

• Experience in audiovisual systems, industrial control, infrastructure, automation, or connected device environments.

• Familiarity with NetControl or comparable device monitoring and control platforms.

Location and Eligibility
This position may be based in Frisco, Texas, or performed remotely by qualified candidates worldwide. Employment arrangements depend on the candidate’s location and the requirements of the role and project.
