November 23, 2005
Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri has been staying on the cutting edge of classroom technology with Bitlogix® NetControl® control software.
DALLAS, Texas, November 23, 2005 – Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) Media Services, along with the Information Technology (IT) Department, has spent the past year installing a projector network management system implementing Bitlogix® NetControl® projector control software. More than 140 data projectors are connected and there are plans to install more projectors in the near future. With the use of Bitlogix NetControl software, Media Services is able to control, manage, maintain and secure projectors campus wide from any computer terminal. The project also includes three extension campuses located more than 40 miles away and a fourth extension campus coming online soon.
“This was a win-win project. The ability to leverage our investments in our projectors and our network technology has enabled us to reduce the overhead of managing more than 140 projectors while enhancing the delivery of audiovisual services to the classroom”, says Joel LaReau, Vice President Information Technologies OTC. “The notification of a power or cable disconnect from the projector provided by Bitlogix NetControl was a pleasant benefit that has increased the physical security of the projectors.”
Justin Pedigo, Media Specialist with Ozarks Technical Community College uses NetControl with a variety of different branded projectors and Epson PowerLite 835p network projectors. The ability to control LAN enabled projectors remotely from any computer terminal allows him to give excellent service to all projector users instantly. Projectors can be scheduled to power on/off at designated times using NetControl’s event management tool. The college no longer wastes projector lamp hours because a projector was unintentionally left on all weekend.
